We met working at a bookstore, the same bookstore where the movie “When Harry Met Sally” (Beth’s favorite!) was filmed. While shelving in the astrology section (believe it or not) we started talking, and soon found out that not only were we both Scorpios—we shared a birthday.
It turned out we had even more in common. We both came from loving and affectionate families, with parents who instilled in us strong values. We both shared a passion for music and the arts, a love of animals, and a goofy sense of humor.
We’ve never forgotten those initial signs that pointed us toward each other. But our connection has deepened. We’ve worked hard to carve out a rich life together, supported each other through career transitions, celebrated some amazing achievements, and leaned on each other in the face of loss and tragedy. Our home is filled with love and laughter, and a sense that each day is a continuation of the story we began writing together on the day we first met.
We have a strong and loving relationship, and we’ve been partners in everything we’ve done. This new phase of our life—becoming parents—isn’t any different. And so, just as we’ve done with everything else, we’re going into it with eyes wide open, as partners. We want to share our lives with a child, to provide love and guidance as we weave new memories as a family. We know that adoption is the road for us to become parents, and it’s something we’ve committed to, together.
